Each year, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) takes the lives of an estimated 100 young male and female athletes who have no known heart condition. SCA deaths aren’t common, but they are devastating. Leavenworth High School is joining other schools in the metro to ensure that our student-athletes’ hearts are safe to play.

“Student-athletes put their souls into sports...Saint Luke’s Athletic Heart Clinic makes sure their hearts can take it!”

Help Us Name The New League

Our school has agreed to join five other schools to form a new KSHSAA league for athletics and activities, beginning August 2018. The new, yet to be named, league includes: Basehor-Linwood High School; De Soto High School; Lansing High School; Leavenworth High School; Shawnee Heights High School; and Turner High School.

We are actively taking suggestions for what the new league should be named throughout the month of July. Student representatives from each of the six schools will meet in early August to review the names suggested and provide a final list of recommendations for consideration and approval by the schools' Athletics/Activities Directors & Principals.

You can learn more and share your ideas by clicking "Help Us Name The New League" above no later than Monday, July 31.
