Danny Wilson Wrestling State Placer

Congratulations to Danny Wilson for placing 3rd at the Kansas State Wrestling Championships. Danny finishes his career with 101 wins, a 3X Sunflower League Champion, and a 2X state medalists. Danny has also been selected to compete at the prestigious Metro Classic on Tuesday, March 11th at KCK Community College. This event is a border war dual between the best seniors from Kansas and Missouri. Good luck, Danny!

Pioneer Men's Basketball in Tournament of Champions

The Pioneer Men’s Basketball team will play in the 2014 Tournament of Champions in Dodge City this weekend. Powerlifters Succeed in Area Meet

Congratulations to our powerlifters who traveled to McLouth on Saturday. Individual medalists included Moraya Goodman, Alexus Scott, Amelia Cribb, Vanessa Turpin, and Nicole Tennant. The girls team brought home the runner-up trophy and meet records were broken by Moraya Goodman for bench press, Amelia Cribb for clean and Nicole Tennant for clean and bench press. Go Pioneers!

Jeff Baxter Selected as Kansas Teacher of the Year

Mr. Jeff Baxter, a language arts teacher at Leavenworth High School in the Leavenworth School District (USD 453), was named as the 2014 Kansas Teacher of the Year by the Kansas State Department of Education. The announcement was made by Kansas Commissioner of Education, Dr. Diane DeBacker, during an awards banquet at the Wichita Marriott on Saturday evening, November 23, 2013. The program recognized eight finalists for the award from throughout the State of Kansas.
