Parade of Nations Hosted at LHS

Join us on Monday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m., for the Parade of Nations, hosted by the Organization of International Spouses and Sponsors, alongside the LHS Interact Club (for LHS students with the purpose of promoting international understanding), and DECA Club (LHS business/marketing club). This free public event will highlight the clothing styles and customs of the Fort Leavenworth international military students and families. This event has taken place for 10 years, but will now be hosted on the Leavenworth High School Performing Arts Center stage. The annual parade strives to promote awareness of the many cultures represented by the international students attending CGSC and living in our community. This is a great opportunity for the public to see and meet people from around the world.

Examples of displays include the Aesan Gede from Indonesia, which is worn for important occasions. The Romanian dress is traditional clothing, mostly worn in the rural areas, with symbols inspired by nature and mythology. Belize has six different cultures so each area has different traditional clothing.

Over 25 countries will be represented - don't miss this great opportunity to see traditional clothes from around the world and learn more about the people who live there.
