Pre-Enrollment for Sophomores to be Juniors

The Guidance Department will be pre-enrolling sophomores (to be juniors) on Monday and Tuesday, February 9, and 10. This process will take place through World History classes. Students will be called by class to visit with their Guidance Counselor and make their course selections. Please take a few moments and discuss class options with your student, based on the attachments provided. We thank you for your commitment to LHS student success. Communication for Pre-Enrollment for other grades will be shared closer to those Pre-Enrollment dates.

LHS Senior Receives Fox4 Reaching for Excellence Award

Phil Witt, Fox4 News Reaching for Excellence reporter, is spending time at LHS today for a feature on Jessica Vold, senior marksman on the JROTC Rifle Team and her enormous success. Jess will compete in the JROTC All Army CMP Air Rifle Nationals in February in Arizona. And, the actual award presentation...after the interview...such a celebration of hard work, drive, and tons of practice. LHS Mathleague Contest Successful

LHS held a Mathleague contest on Saturday, January 17 with competitors from Lawrence Free State. Congratulations to these winners from LHS!

In the Sprint Round, Will Hanlen and Jake Boyce won first place for their grade levels; Rebecca Hollister, Ashton Harlan, and Kristen Song second; and Summer McCowen, Meagan Brucker, and Kevin Johnson third.

In the Target Round, Rebecca Hollister, Meagan Bucker, and Zach Flowers took first in their grades; Summer McCowen, Ashton Harlan, and Kevin Johnson second, and Trenton Muzzy, Christy Wiley, Jake Boyce and Srisuda Sudachom third.

In the Team Round, Trenton Muzzy took first (all by himself!), and the team of Meagan Brucker, Rebecca Hollister, Summer McCowen, Rebecca McWilliams, Aurora Rogers, and Yasmine Williams third.

"150 Years in the World Symposium" Scheduled in Recognition of LHS' 150 Birthday

"150 Years in the World Symposium" - Come out this Saturday, January 17, and learn from international notables who will share their expertise to address the status of the world during historical milestones in LHS' 150 year existence. This rich walk through history is hosted in support of the LHS 150 year birthday celebration. The Symposium will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the LHS Performing Arts Center and conclude at 3:00 p.m. It is free and will offer a $2 pizza/drink special for lunch. The LHS production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying qualified for State and is going to the Kansas State Thespian Conference! LHS will be preforming in Wichita on January 8th, Main Stage on Opening Night. Only three shows from the state have been selected to perform on main stage.
