Scholarship/Leadership Opportunities for Underclassmen

S.T.A.P.H. or Summer Talent Academy for Professions in Health - Nominations are now open for this exciting program for students who are either in 10th or 11th grade and are wishing to pursue a career in medicine.  This program is offered at Truman State University and A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Kirksville, Missouri during the summer, and offers students a deeper understanding of the theories and techniques of medical careers.  Students must be nominated by their guidance counselor, have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and minimum 3.5 GPA in the basic sciences.  Entry into this program is highly competitive and limited to only 50 students.  Nominations are due by November 14, 2016 so if interested, see your guidance counselor immediately.



Z.S.A. or Zombie Scholars Academy is a week-long summer academy held at Truman State University and open to students in grades 9-11.  This is a one-of-a-kind academic program that takes the fiction of the zombie apocalypse and turns that energy into a vehicle for learning about some of society’s most pressing needs.  Students must be nominated by a guidance counselor and enrollment is limited to 50 students.  Don’t delay if interested, as nominations are due by November 14, 2016.


Tuition for each program is $900, which covers room, board, and expenses for all required activities.  Scholarship assistance is available.
