A little bit about me...
I grew up in Satellite Beach, FL which we affectionately call the Space Coast due to its proximity to Cape Canaveral. I came to Kansas by way of love - my husband is a born and bred Kansan. How a Florida beach girl met a Kansas farm boy is another story.
Prior to marriage and teaching, I fancied myself a bit of a world traveler. I spent a semester studying abroad in Portsmouth, England and 'back-packed' around Europe from there. I checked off my number one on my bucket list when I went to Egypt and spent my honeymoon on a cruise through the Caribbean islands. I love experiencing new cultures and meeting new people!
I received my B.A. from Florida Atlantic University's Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College where I concentrated my studies in English Literature, completing a senior thesis on the role of dancing and rhetoric in Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice.
I moved to Kansas for my Master's degree in English Literature, which I completed at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. There I focused my studies on 19th Century American and British Literature, completing my culminating experience on social role of ghost stories in Victorian periodicals.
I am currently completing my second Master's degree in Education through Fort Hays Stated University - because I just can't get enough of school...
