Hello and Welcome to room 113!
I am very excited to be working as a special education teacher in Leavenworth High School. This year I hope to present engaging lessons that tie into real-world skills for all students and have lots of fun.
A little about me:
I graduated from the University of Kansas in May 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I went right into my Master's degree program in High-Incidence Disabilities in Special Education. I hope to be completely finished with this by May 2017. I just need to finish my thesis. I also am going back to school to pursue my endorsement in low-incidence (functional) special education at the University of Kansas.
My teaching career started at Logan Elementary as a fifth grade teacher. I loved my students, but needed to work closer to home to attend my Master's classes. This past year, I worked at Oskaloosa Elementary as a K-6 emotional and behavioral disorders special education teacher. This amazing experience led me to the opportunity at Leavenworth High School.
Outside of school, I love to Irish Step Dance and sing. I have a crazy dog named Bailey, who likes to herd humans. I am engaged to be married to Aaron and we will be married in June 2017.
I am very excited to be teaching at Leavenworth High School and I know we will have an amazing 2016-2017 school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by email or phone.
