About Us

Leavenworth High School was established in 1865, making it one of the first high schools in Kansas. The school moved to its current location on 10th Avenue in 1959. A massive renovation of the school was completed in 2010. The renovation included additional square footage, state of the art athletic facilities, and the construction of the Performing Arts Center.

Leavenworth High School has a rich history of tradition, including being home to the oldest Junior ROTC program in the nation, founded in 1917. Students at Leavenworth High School have a variety of options to pursue academically, with more than 100 different course offerings to choose from, which include 15 Advanced Placement courses. There is truly something for everyone at Leavenworth High School, with 20 different sports team, and more than 50 clubs and organizations to join.
